BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — A traffic stop for an expired registration ended in the arrest of a man police described as a “known drug trafficker.”
Cartersville police say officers recognized Jacobi Wilkey and began questioning him before he tried to run off and was caught.
While searching him, officers found fentanyl and methamphetamine in baggies.

Investigators say he planned to distribute them in the Cartersville area.
Police say that based on statistics from the DEA, the amount of fentanyl they recovered would be enough for 8,000 overdose deaths.

Wilkey was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine and obstruction of law enforcement.
According to Bartow County jail records, he is currently being held without bond.
