WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — New dash-cam video first obtained by Channel 2 Action News shows the dangerous, high-speed chase to capture John Christopher Calhoun Monday morning.
Video shows the final moments of a massive manhunt to get Calhoun into custody. Deputies say he kidnapped an 81-year-old woman from her home and kept her in the trunk of her car, which he stole, for nearly two days.
On Monday, Calhoun severely beat a construction worker before stealing his truck, deputies said.
Maj. Damien Mercer walked Channel 2’s Ashley Swann through the footage.

As Calhoun behind the wheel of the stolen pickup makes a desperate attempt to evade deputies, he reaches speeds over 90 miles an hour on the small country roads of Monroe.
"With whatever cost, he was willing to do whatever he had to do and that was evident in the video tapes," Mercer said.
Suddenly, Calhoun turns off the road cutting through the parking lot of the Walton County Fire Department and onto a residential dead end street.
In a moment, it's all over. Mercer says it's a miracle no one was injured.
“All of our folks go home and as soon as the victims are healed, they'll be back with their families and life goes on," Mercer said. "The bad guy's in jail and so you can't get a more perfect outcome, so we're all pleased."
