A Barrow County teenager attacked by two pit bulls during a walk in her neighborhood will finally get to go home from the hospital on Saturday.
Joslyn Stinchcomb, 15, has been in recovery at Children’s Healthcare since the attack on July 31st. Her family shared in a Facebook group dedicated to Joslyn that the teen will head home tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
The Winder community has rallied behind Joslyn and her family by raising money to help with medical bills and show their support. According to the Barrow County Emergency Services, a parade is planned to welcome her home and
Stinchcomb is an avid walker in her Barrow County neighborhood. But her afternoon outing on July 31 turned to terror. Police described the dog’s attack on Stinchcomb as “horrific” and unprovoked.
The parade will start at the Ingles in Auburn, travel down Atlanta Highway into Winder and turn on to North Broad Street. It will finish at Winder First Baptist Church. The department is encouraging the community to safely line the streets to welcome her home.
Deputies charged the dog’s owner and both dogs have been euthanized.
