An Atlanta woman said her online romance left her out of love -- and nearly $500.

She said she gave her now ex-boyfriend money for a Lexus, but that car, and the man, disappeared.

Channel 2′s Audrey Washington spoke to Shirley Woodward at her Atlanta home.

Woodward said she met Steve Grandison on Jan. 19 through a dating app.

Woodward said the relationship developed. Grandison mentioned that he had a 2016 Lexus and offered to give it to her. All Woodward had to do was pay for the title and other fees.

Grandison then offered to pay her bills for the month of February so she could get the money together for the car.

Woodward said Grandison paid her bills and she paid him $460.

The police report says that the car was supposed to be delivered to Woodward on Feb. 3, but that never happened.

Woodward told Washington her calls and texts to Grandison went unanswered, and the payments he had made bounced.

Now, she’s warning other women not to fall for the scam.

“If he did it to me, he’s done it to someone else, and I’m trying to prevent that from happening again,” Woodward said.

Washington looked up Grandison’s phone number and found that it doesn’t work anymore.

Detectives are searching for him.

Anyone with information is urged to call Atlanta police.
