ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for armed robbers who held up a man and his fiance in Midtown. The victims say the robbers even chased them in their own car.

A Hall County couple parks on Peachtree Circle once a month when organizing events in Midtown Atlanta.

One of the victims told Channel 2's Matt Johnson two armed robbers almost took him away from his 2-year-old son.

He doesn't want to be identified, but says just before midnight two gunmen ambushed him and his fiance.

"I just kept telling them please don't shoot us. We got a kid," the victim said.

The victim says the robbers took off toward Peachtree Street in his Pittsburgh Steelers Nissan Sentra.

"They pulled out and turned around and started coming toward us, and I told her please run as fast as you can or I'm going to get shot," he said.

As the couple ran toward an Exxon gas station, they said the robbers rolled down the window and pulled the trigger.

All the victims heard were three clicks before the robbers drove away.

Neighbors suspect robbers are coming to the Ansley Park neighborhood for a reason.

"I guess this must be a targeted area for some reason I guess. They think there's money out here," one neighbor said.

The victim hopes his car turns up and says he will have to find a new place to park.

The suspects wore bandanas on their faces and also made off with an expensive camera, a purse, wallets and a phone, too.
