UGA quarterback Stetson Bennett drafted by LA Rams in fourth round

ATLANTA — UGA’s back-to-back national champion quarterback Stetson Bennett is heading to Los Angeles.

Bennett was drafted by the LA Rams on Saturday afternoon during the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Channel 2.

He was the overall No. 128 pick in the 2023 draft.

UGA Head Coach Kirby Smart expressed his excitement for Bennett on Twitter, writing, “You meant so much to this program & I’m thankful for your time in Athens. What a story! You’re going to make a great man, great leader & great person. Dawg Nation loves you.”

Bennett has accomplished nearly everything you can in college: Two championships and a Heisman Trophy finalist recognition.

If Bennett listened to those who doubted him, football fans probably wouldn’t know he even existed. He went from walk-on to junior college, then up the depth chart at UGA before he finally won back-to-back national championships.

Bennett went to work in the offseason. He turned down the chance to practice and player in the Senior Bowl. Instead, he focused strictly on improving his passing skills and working out in Texas.
