ATLANTA — A metro area mother said her daughter wouldn't be alive if not for a quick acting friend.
Mikiya Rogers and Cario Googer were driving home after work when Rogers lost consciousness.
Googer pulled the car over, called 911 and began CPR.
Roger's mother, Myeka Jennings, told Channel 2's Berndt Petersen that her daughter went into cardiac arrest and had a stroke.
"At this point, all we can do is pray for a miracle," Jennings said.
The mother said she’s grateful for Googer’s quick action because she could have lost her daughter then and there.
"Cario is very humble. She was with the right person at the right time," Jennings said.
Googer works with Rogers at a Marcos Pizza restaurant in southeast Atlanta. He told Petersen that he was driving her home after their shift when she lost consciousness in the car.

“I looked over and called her name. She didn't respond to me," Googer said.
He didn't waste a second. Googer said he immediately called 911 and then performed CPR, which he learned in the seventh grade.
"The operator told me, 'Is she still breathing?' I instantly thought about my training. I was like, ‘I have to administer CPR,’" Googer said.
At the restaurant, those who know Googer well said they’re really proud of what he did.
"He saved a life. How many people can actually say that? He saved a life," restaurant owner Kip Robinson told Petersen.
Jennings admits the prognosis for her daughter is not good.
If Roger’s condition does not improve, she may not be a candidate for a neurological rehab center. Jennings may have to take Rogers home and care for her by herself.
Jennings said she is still grateful because her daughter's friend has given her a fighting chance.
"Cario is a hero. He saved Mikiya's life. I appreciate you for that," Jennings said.
The family is asking for prayers that Roger’s brain function improves so she can be moved to a facility that specializes in treating this type of injury.
