ATLANTA — Barricades are up along a major street that sends traffic onto the downtown connector.
While festival visitors line the streets for the Sweet Auburn Springfest, the detours are causing some confusion for drivers along Fort Street.
The on-ramps to the connector are blocked at Auburn Street and Fort Street as well as Fort Street and Irwin Street.
Drivers will need to follow detour signs to get onto the connector.
Police will be around to help direct traffic. GDOT asks drivers to seek alternate routes if they're headed to the spring festival or traveling the downtown connector.
"I think it's going to cause a lot of confusion, everyone trying to get to the highway or get around, and it'll probably cause accidents," driver Dwayne Williams said.
