Deadly double shooting investigation underway at Atlanta apartment complex

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating a double shooting that left one person dead and another in critical condition at an Atlanta apartment complex Saturday morning.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News that officers received reports of a person shot around 6:50 a.m. at the Victory at Summerhill apartment complex on Fulton Street.

Officers told Channel 2′s Elizabeth Rawlins that two people were shot on the fourth floor of the 2000 building in the apartment complex. They believe the shooting took place after an argument.

Authorities said officers found one victim in the apartment where the shooting is believed to have occurred. They added that the second victim ran out to the parking lot after being shot.

Both victims were taken to the hospital.

Officers said one of the victims is dead, and the other is in critical condition. Their identities have not been released.

According to authorities at the scene, they believe all parties involved in the shooting have been identified; however, no one has been taken into custody.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Atlanta Police Department.

Channel 2 Action News reached out to Atlanta police for more information but has not received a response.
