ATLANTA — Protesters calling for reform in American policing gathered on the 17th Street bridge in Midtown Atlanta.

Several protesters left the bridge Saturday evening and began marching down Peachtree Street in Midtown. The group stopped a couple times to block intersections and chant.
The Channel 2 Action News team witnessed multiple protesters being arrested by police around 12:45 p.m.
Protesters stopped at popular locations like the Fox Theatre, the Hard Rock Cafe and Underground Atlanta.

The Atlanta Police Department confirms 11 people were arrested -- 10 charged with pedestrian in roadway and one charged with disorderly conduct.
These events come after recent frustration over the police-involved shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Philando Castile in St. Paul, Minnesota.The aftermath of both shootings were captured on cellphone video.
A sniper opened fire on police officers in Dallas on Thursday as a peaceful protest against police violence came to an end.
