Police searching for suspect after man shot on MARTA train

ATLANTA — MARTA police are currently investigating a shooting at the midtown MARTA station.

Channel 2’s Courtney Francisco is at the station where police have it surrounded.

Police says shots were fired on a train stopped at the southbound platform of the station on 10th Street at 7 p.m.

A man was shot in the left arm and leg and taken to the hospital, where he is said to be stable.

Investigators say they are actively searching for the suspect.

They believe the shooting was targeted.

Just after 7:30 p.m., MARTA officials said that because of an “emergency” on a southbound train, no trains are running at the station.

About an hour later, service resumed at the station, but is experiencing delays.
