Police searching for driver they say hit 3-year-old at gas station, took off

ATLANTA — Police say a driver hit a 3-year-old in a gas station parking lot in metro Atlanta and took off Sunday afternoon.

Police said the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at a Quickmart on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. NW.

When police arrived, the 3-year-old girl was bleeding from the head. She was taken to Egleston Children’s Hospital for treatment. Her condition and identity have not been released.

The investigation revealed that the vehicle that hit the child, which is believed to be four-door sedan, left the scene.

Police are still trying to identify the driver
