ATLANTA — They've mastered running, climbing and exploring inside their habitat, but now it's time for Zoo Atlanta's panda twins to go see the outside world!.
The zoo said they will begin “cub proofing” the outdoor panda exhibit this week, so Xi Lun and Ya Lun can join the other pandas to see the many excited onlookers at Zoo Atlanta.
The zoo said while mother Lun Lun and the girls will have the freedom to use the outdoor yard, they will still have access to their indoor room.

“As they become more comfortable being outside, we will begin closing the door for short periods at first and then extending that to longer periods as time goes by. If these girls are anything like the rest of their older siblings, it will not take them very long at all to accept their new outdoor world,” the zoo said on its website.
This is just the latest milestone for the panda twins. You can watch them live throughout the day on the zoo's Panda Cam.
