ATLANTA — One person is dead after a dump truck crashed and flipped on its side near the Atlanta-Cobb County line, according to police.
Police arrived at the scene at around 5 a.m. on Wednesday and found a dump truck against a railroad bridge wall on Atlanta Road near Bolton Road.

Cobb County police said the truck’s driver, 44-year-old Jason Maddox, was traveling north with the bed of the truck extending in the up position when the dump bed collided with the train bridge.
The truck flipped over, ejecting Maddox.

Maddox was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision remains under investigation.
