ATLANTA — NASA released a stunning image of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthplace on the day we celebrate the Civil Rights leader’s birth -- from a uniquely NASA perspective.
The agency posted a photo from space of the city of Atlanta lit up in the darkness.
They captioned the moving Instagram post with one of King’s most-loved quotes:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”

The quote is from King’s “Loving Your Enemies” sermon, which he delivered at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Alabama in 1957.
King was born on January 15, 1929 and would be 92 years old if he were alive.
“Today we honor his legacy with this stunning image from space of Atlanta, #MLK’s birthplace, alight amidst the dark of night,” NASA wrote.
