ATLANTA — A DeKalb County mother is pleading for an end to senseless killings after all three of her sons died in separate homicides.

Janice Ballard-Dean has lost three children over a span of 17 years.

Her son Kentavious Ballard was shot and killed at Central Park in Atlanta in 2012.

His brother Octavious was shot and killed in Clayton County in 2000.

Ballard-Dean said her son Xavier died in a DeKalb County robbery in 2001.

“Losing three sons, brutally murdered, shot and robbed and senseless – it’s very hard,” she said.

Both Kentavious and Octavious’ slayings are now cold cases.
