MARTA highlights electric vehicle investments in metro Atlanta

ATLANTA — MARTA is working to cut climate pollution and the bolster public transit system across Georgia.

On Thursday they held an event to highlight historic climate and electric vehicle investments in metro Atlanta.

The plan includes electrifying public buses and making it easier for Georgians to install solar panels and purchase electric vehicles.

MARTA CEO Collie Greenwood said they are part of the solution to climate crisis.

“I’m just here to say MARTA has part of the solution,” Greenwood said. “On top of that, we’ve got all the electric infrastructure coming to support that. We’ve got another 31 electric buses on the way.

Organizers say MARTA’s plan will deliver economic, public health, and consumer benefits in the metro area.
