ATLANTA — Kroger’s Atlanta division is matching Tyler Perry’s donation last week when the media mogul footed the bill for all senior shoppers at 44 metro Kroger stories during “senior” hour on Wednesday, April 8.
Felix Turner, a Kroger Atlanta spokesman, said he can’t reveal the actual amount of money, but it’s clear Perry collectively donated well into the six figures to seniors at all the Kroger locations in Atlanta and 29 Winn-Dixie supermarkets in his hometown of New Orleans the same morning.

“Tyler Perry’s generosity has inspired us all,” Turner said. “Anonymous angel donors across the country are following his lead and offering to pick up the grocery tabs for others. In keeping with this spirit of giving, Kroger has matched Tyler Perry’s donation, which will help bring both food and joy to individuals and families across Atlanta.”
