HAPEVILLE, Ga. — Police identified an innocent bystander caught in the middle of gunfire at a Hapeville apartment complex as a 59-year-old mother and grandmother.

Family and friends describe Gloria Starr Armour as kind and loving.

Armour, who has two children, was in the car with her husband, Danny Kenny, when she was hit in the chest by a stray bullet Monday afternoon.

The couple was waiting at the complex gate when police say at least two people started shooting at each other from their cars outside of the Summerdale Apartments. Their car got caught in the crossfire. A bullet pierced Armour's arm, tore through her chest and sent her into cardiac arrest.

"They took everything from me."

Armour was rushed to the hospital, but there was nothing doctors could do. She died with her husband by her side.

"She was dead before she got to the hospital," her daughter, Quesha Armour, told Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez.

Police say the shooters involved both crashed their cars a few feet away from the scene and took off. They are still on the loose.

"They took everything from me. They robbed me of my mother and my kids of their grandmother. I just want for whoever did this to come clean," Quesha Armour said.

Gloria Armour didn't have life insurance and the family doesn't have the means to bury her so they have started a GoFundMe page to raise money for a proper funeral.
