ATLANTA — Gov. Brian Kemp is offering some relief at the pump as gas prices rise.
The governor signed an executive order late Monday that will remain in effect until Oct. 29.
Kemp said Monday that he is suspending the state gas tax because of the soaring prices of gas and diesel fuel.

That tax equals 33 cents a gallon in savings for regular gas and 37 cents for diesel fuel.
The current average for gas in Georgia is $4.19 a gallon. Diesel is $6.24 a gallon, according to AAA.
The automobile club said that one year ago, the average price of gas in Georgia was $2.87 a gallon for regular gas and $3.54 a gallon for Diesel.
