Good Samaritan finds bag containing child’s stolen cancer meds, other items

ATLANTA — A Georgia family who has a child with cancer has something to celebrate Friday after a good Samaritan found a bag that had some of the child’s medicine inside that was stolen from them earlier in the week.

Hailey Holder Allen, who is 21-months-old, has already been through 35 weeks of chemotherapy.

“She’s 21 months old. She has stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. It’s really rare and really aggressive,” said mother Hailey Allen, who shares a similar name with her daughter.

The Allens live in Warner Robbins, and decided to stay at the Sheraton in downtown Atlanta Tuesday night, so they could make Hailey’s 7 a.m. oncology appointment.

The Atlanta Police Department confirmed Friday afternoon that a good Samaritan found the bag at a Union City gas station. Inside was Hailey’s journals, cancer beads and some medication.
