ATLANTA — Strong storms moved across north Georgia throughout Monday afternoon downing trees and power lines in parts of the metro.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz tracked the storms throughout the evening on Channel 2 Action News as some of the storms turned severe.
The Conyers Police Department shared several photos on the department’s Facebook page that showed trees down across roads, trees into homes and even the roof ripped off a business.
One of the harder hit areas was Conyers.

The storms started to lose strength as soon as the sun started to set. Stray showers were still possible overnight.
There will be another chance for storms on Tuesday. Here’s what to expect:
- Storms start to develop by midday
- Storms could include heavy rain, strong wind gusts and cloud-to-ground lightning
- The storms will taper off after sunset.
