ATLANTA — With more and more companies calling the Atlanta metro home, the need for well-educated people to fill those open positions becomes essential.
Luckily, the Atlanta/Sandy Springs/Alpharetta area has just been named in the top 25 most educated cities in the country.
In a new study by WalletHub, it found that the Atlanta area came in at No. 25 on their list of “2023′s most & least educated cities in America.”
To determine the list, “WalletHub compared the 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across 11 key metrics. Our data set ranges from the share of adults aged 25 and older with a bachelor’s degree or higher to the quality of the public school system to the gender education gap.”
“Highly educated people increase labor force productivity, and they invest heavily in the next generation. Because they see the fruits of their knowledge and skills, highly educated people typically view education as the golden ticket for children’s success,” said Molly Martin, associate professor of Sociology and Demography at Pennsylvania State University.

In addition, more education leads to higher worker productivity, economic growth, and living standards for the community in general,” said Kuzey Yilmaz, associate professor in Cleveland State University’s Department of Economics.
Among Georgia’s other cities to make the list is Savannah, coming in at No. 83.
The country’s most educated city, according to WalletHub? Ann Arbor, Michigan. On the other of the spectrum, Visalia, California came in at No. 150.
