ATLANTA — This week the Atlanta Braves are honoring the great Hank Aaron.
Community events and in-game presentations will highlight Aaron’s efforts and accomplishments as a player, philanthropist, front office executive and businessman all week long.
On Wednesday, the team’s front office staff partnered with Home Depot to launch a volunteer project at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta.

Volunteers gathered to restore the school’s baseball and softball fields.
They also planted a school garden and organized storage areas.
“This partnership doesn’t just support our facilities and beautification today. This partnership is going to be laced with incentives for our students, incentives for our teachers,” William Wade, Principal of Booker T. Washington High School said.
On Tuesday, the Braves, together with Truist through the Homers for Hank initiative, built a state-of-the-art covered batting cage at Lady Panther’s field, the home field of Clark Atlanta University’s softball team.
Thursday there will be a luncheon at Truist Park honoring young athletes.
Then the Braves will honor Hank Aaron before Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Proceeds from the Atlanta Braves Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle during Friday, Saturday, and Sunday’s games will benefit the Henry Louis Aaron Fund to continue to support the growth of diversity in baseball, on and off the field.
Hank Aaron Week will wrap up Sunday with the Hank Aaron Invitational showcase game in partnership with Major League Baseball and the MLBPA.
The Braves will be wearing their City Connect uniforms throughout the weekend series.
