ATLANTA — Atlanta police have a new tool to help keep the public safe – a dog named Scout!
Scout is the Atlanta Police Department’s first emotional support dog.
“Scout provides instant therapy by elevating moods, relieving stress and lessening anxiety,” the department said in a tweet Tuesday.
During the video, APD said therapy dogs can reduce anxiety following a critical incident.
The department also attached a video with the tweet showing Scout getting some love and attention from his fellow officers.
Atlanta police said they look forward to sharing more about Scout’s stories in the coming days.
