ATLANTA — A fire is under investigation after firefighters responded to an apartment fire near Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.

Fire officials responded to the apartment around 5 p.m. after getting a call about a fire with people possibly trapped inside.

Firefighters were able to force entry into the unit, contain the fire, and get the people who were trapped out of the unit.

The American Red Cross is assisting individuals impacted by the fire. One victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.
