ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for a suspect who shot a 77-year-old man seven times during an attempted carjacking.
The victim is now recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Atlanta police were called to the Princeton Lakes subdivision in southwest Atlanta just after 11 p.m. Saturday.
Police say the man was leaving a house party, walking to his car with his wife, when he was approached by a young man with a gun.

Investigators are still trying to sort out what happened and talking to witnesses in the neighborhood, but say there was some kind of struggle when the man wouldn't hand over the keys to his Cadillac.
The gunman shot the man three times in the chest, three times in the groin area and once in the buttocks before running away.
Witnesses told police the shooter then saw the man on the ground still moving, and came back and shot him again. %

His wife was not harmed.
Police collected four shell casings on the ground and brought in a K-9 to search for more evidence.
According to witnesses, police only have a description of the shooter as a young man, possibly a teenager, who got away in a black colored sedan.
