Atlanta Fire Battalion Chief Matt Driver said between 10 and 12 people were displaced, some adults, and some children.

Officials brought a MARTA bus on the scene to keep the families warm until Red Cross was able to assist.

Driver encourages people to check their smoke alarms and to make sure their bedroom doors are closed at all times because it allows more time to escape in the case of a fire.
