Innocent 85-year-old woman shot in ‘targeted’ incident in south Atlanta

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating after two people were shot in two separate locations on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to Browns Mill Road near E. Rhinehill Road in reference to someone being shot.

About 10 minutes later, they were called to Lindsey Drive, which is about one-third of a mile away, for another person shot.

Police say the victims are a 21-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman.

They believe the shooting was targeted, but the 85-year-old woman was an unintended victim.

Investigators say it appears that both incidents are related to one another.

The victims are alert, conscious and breathing at the hospital.

Police have not commented on what led to the shooting or possible suspects, but they do have a suspect vehicle.
