ATLANTA — A teen drowned at a pool Thursday night and was rushed to the hospital.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington learned the 19-year-old was swimming at Anderson Park Pool in northwest Atlanta when he went under.
Atlanta police said the teen, identified as Daquavious Middelbrooks, was with friends and some family members at the time of the incident. People at the scene tried to revive him, but he was later rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Atlanta police said they got the call for help shortly before 10 p.m., but signs outside the pool states that it closes at 7 pm.

On Friday, Washington learned from the medical examiner's office that Middelbrooks died.
Washington spoke with a city worker who said all of the gates there were locked at the time. So, it's still unclear how the group got into the pool area.
Washington called the Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation and was referred to the communications department at City Hall. Her calls to that city spokesperson were not returned.
