The officer involved shooting caused a great deal of chaos in the neighborhood on Clark Howard Lane S.W.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum, rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.

“Chief Schierbaum and I were able to shake his hand and were able to tell him – he’s gonna be ok. He was emotional as you can imagine. Probably just shaken up a whole lot and in pain,” said Mayor Dickens.

The accused shooter’s family expressed their concern about the help Gates will get. They don’t think he got the help he needed while he was out so they’re hoping he gets the help he needs now.
