Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King announced Wednesday that Darrion Deneen Lucius, 39, of Atlanta, was arrested following an investigation by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire.

According to investigators, Lucius reported a burglary to Dunwoody police and claimed that more than $18,000 worth of personal belongings had been stolen.

Officials said Lucius later filed an insurance claim with Lemonade Insurance seeking reimbursement for the reported losses.

During the claims process, investigators allege Lucius tried to prove ownership of the stolen items by submitting a counterfeit bank statement as proof of purchase.
