ATHENS, Ga. — The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has temporarily restricted access to one of its Flock camera systems, effective immediately.

Under the new restrictions, all user access will be deactivated except for lieutenants and higher-ranking officers.
Any query performed by a lieutenant must be approved by a captain, communications administrator, deputy chief or the chief of police.

Approvals will generally be limited to felony investigations, missing or endangered persons, or other unique or critical circumstances considered on a case-by-case basis.
The department did not provide additional details about the reason for the temporary changes.
