ATLANTA — A judge denied bond Wednesday for a 17-year-old accused of shooting five people, including four students at a southwest Atlanta high school.
Marcellus Brooks is facing five counts of aggravated assault in the Tuesday afternoon shooting at Therrell High School. Authorities said the shooting took place near Childress Drive and Panthers Trail after school. Police said Brooks was detained just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Channel 2 Action News has learned the names and ages of the victims. They are: Domonic Clark, 17, Trevion Morgan, 18, Tekevious Redding, 17, Morgan Evans, 15, and Lamarcritus Wilson, 20. Police said their injuries appear non-life-threatening.
A Grady Hospital spokesperson said that two patients were released and three remained in stable condition as of 10 p.m. Tuesday.
“Right now we have five victims that suffered gunshot wounds. They’ve all been transferred to Grady Hospital. I’m being told they’re in stable condition at this time. Obviously they’ve been shot, it’s a serious injury, but I’ve been told no one is deceased and everyone is stable,” Sgt. Greg Lyon of the Atlanta Police Department said.
"We heard five to six shots and when we turned around we saw everyone scattering," one witness told Channel 2's Dave Huddleston.
