All lanes of Interstate 285 in southwest Atlanta are closed after crashes on both sides of the interstate.
Triple Team Traffic says a crash on the southbound lanes sent concrete debris from the median into the northbound lanes.
That caused investigators to shut down two I-285 SB and all lanes of I-285 NB during the morning commute. The lanes started to reopen just before 7:30 a.m. but police shut down all the lanes again around 9:15 a.m.
With the traffic backups, Triple Team Traffic says the best alternate routes are Fulton Industrial Blvd or I-75/85 northbound.
Police confirmed there were injuries with the crash, but did not say how many or if the injuries were severe.
