AAA is offering free rides home for impaired drivers this Labor Day weekend, including transportation for their vehicles.

The Tow to Go program will be available from 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 in Georgia and several other states.
The service is free and confidential and is available to both AAA members and non-members.
Drivers who use the service can have both themselves and their vehicle transported to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.
AAA says the program is particularly important during the busy Labor Day travel weekend.

A recent AAA survey found that 23% of Georgians said they have driven after consuming alcohol, marijuana or medications that could impair their ability to drive.
Among those who admitted to impaired driving, 19% said they got behind the wheel because they did not want to leave their vehicle unattended overnight.
AAA says Tow to Go was created to remove that concern.
“There should never be a choice between leaving your vehicle behind and making it home safely,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group.

AAA encourages people planning to drink or use anything that could impair their driving ability to arrange a designated driver, rideshare, a ride from friends or family, or use Tow to Go.
The program has been offered for more than 25 years and, according to AAA, has helped remove nearly 30,000 impaired drivers from U.S. roads.
The service is available in Georgia, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee and Wisconsin, along with select locations in Colorado and Indiana.
