83-year-old man dead, woman injured in Fayetteville crash, police asking for witnesses

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Fayetteville Police is asking for witnesses in a fatal crash on Wednesday.

Police said at 2 p.m., officers responded to a collision involving two cars at Georgia Highway 85 North and Promenade Parkway.

A 40-year-old Jonesboro woman was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the crash, an 83-year-old Jonesboro man was taken to Piedmont Fayette Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement and Accident Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the cause of the collision.
