21-year-old woman disappears in Georgia state park, phone found

BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — Crews are searching for a woman who disappeared in a Georgia state park Wednesday night.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources tells Channel 2 Action News that Erica Gibson, 21, was visiting Fort Yargo State Park. She hasn’t been seen since 7:30 p.m.

Channel 2’s Matt Johnson learned that Gibson’s phone was last pinged in the park. Officials are concerned with her well being.

DNR game wardens and Winder police officers are back out the park Thursday morning. The game wardens are using SONAR to search a lake at the park.

Winder Police say Gibson is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 132 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a green/gray shirt. F
