Man says woman shot him on interstate after he accidentally cut her off; she tells different story

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has learned two lanes of Interstate 20 westbound were blocked after a man was shot.

Gunfire erupted Monday a little after 5:30 p.m.

Upon arriving to the scene, officers found a man who was shot in the leg.

The man said while he was driving on I-20, he accidentally cut off a female driver, who then shot at him. The man said shortly after the shooting, the woman fled.

However, officers received a different story a short time later. They said they received a call from the woman involved.

She told them the man cut her off, hit her car and shot at her while she was driving. She said she returned fire.

Two lanes of I-20 westbound right past Martin Luther King Jr. Drive were blocked off as police investigated.

Police said “criminal charges are pending at this time and the investigation continues.”
