GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — Two people have been charged in the fatal stabbing of a man in Duluth's first homicide of the year.
Duluth resident Kwang Ko, 32, died on the way to the hospital Thursday. Someone using an ATM near Pleasant Hill Road spotted him in an Aldi parking lot around 7 a.m. and called 911, Duluth police Capt. Don Woodruff said.
Police arrested Seung Won Lee and Dong Ho Shin and charged them with murder.
The attack took place in one of the major shopping districts in Duluth, particularly for the Korean community. It has left many residents on edge.
"I thought, you know, Duluth is kind of safe place. And now it's unsecured," said restaurant owner Moon Beck.
Beck said he was seeking a better life when he left New York and opened his restaurant in Duluth. Several other restaurant owners said they came to the area for the same reason.
