ATLANTA — One student died and another was hurt after a shooting on the Atlanta Technical College campus Monday.
Atlanta police said officers responded to the campus around 8:45 a.m. Officers found a male student dead in a bathroom from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Atlanta police said the early investigation indicates the student had a gun in a classroom when it accidentally discharged and hit another student in the leg.
Atlanta Technical College said the injured student’s wounds were not life-threatening. Officials have not identified either student.
The college said it secured the campus after the shooting and classes and operations later resumed.
“Our thoughts are with the students, their families and the entire Atlanta Technical College community during this time,” a spokesperson said.
