KENNESAW, Ga. — Cobb County police are investigating a fatal crash in Kennesaw with confusion over who was driving the at-fault car.
Police said someone rear-ended a man's car on Kennesaw Due West Road late Wednesday night, causing it to crash down an embankment, killing the driver.
Two people were inside the car that caused the crash, but police said neither will tell them who was behind the wheel.
"We just ran across the street. Maybe we could help and give aid to the person. The guy was too crushed into the car for us to pull him out," witness Leva Jaberizadeh said.
A woman who works at Kennesaw Mountain High School as a night custodian said she believes the victim was a coworker.
"We all left work together, and he pulled out in front of me," the woman said.
Police said the car that caused the accident jumped the curb and smashed head on into a tree, landing in someone's front yard.
Officers said when they arrived, the two men were standing outside the car, and both claimed they were not driving at the time of the crash. Both men were arrested. One was taken to the hospital.
Officers investigating the crash said alcohol played a role.
