GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Gainesville police said officers are responding to a shooting that hurt one in the area of Chestnut Street and Green Hunter Lane.

One person was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with a gunshot wound.
Police said there will be large law enforcement presence for several hours.
“Current information indicates the suspect is no longer in the area and there is no known threat remaining for this area,” police said.
The suspect and victim has not been identified.
