ATLANTA,None — Channel 2's "Salute 2 America Celebration," presented by the Georgia Lottery, televised a mix of musical entertainment and coverage of the Southeast's largest fireworks show to hundreds of thousands across north Georgia.
Georgia's own hit music star and actress, Diana DeGarmo, joined top country music artist Trace Adkins, to deliver special musical tributes recognizing those who serve our country.
DeGarmo will took a short break from the Broadway musical "9 to 5" to perform live on the Salute 2 America stage at Lenox Square.
Monica Pearson, anchor of Channel 2 Action News at 4 and 6 p.m., and sports anchor Zach Klein hosted the station's coverage of this spectacular event. The television special included stories from those who risk their lives for America.
"The annual 4th of July fireworks extravaganza at Lenox Square is a must see," said Bill Hoffman, vice president and general manager of WSB-TV.

Cadillac Jack & Dallas, of "Atlanta's Country Morning" on KICKS 101.5, hosted a special segment with members of the armed forces and their families. KICKS, along with Aaron's, presented Adkins' intimate concert performance recorded at Channel 2.
"We are excited to have both Trace Adkins and Diana DeGarmo in this year's program," said Art Rogers, director of programming for WSB-TV.
Additionally, the station's coverage showcased a deserving military family's adventurous trip to Orlando, Florida awarded by Montlick & Associates and the volunteer efforts of USO members serving at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
