GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — A battle over the remains of a missing Gwinnett County woman who was found dead in the woods has been resolved.
Both parties reached an agreement on Monday afternoon and the remains of Nique Leili will go to her family.
Her body was found a week and a half ago by family and friends just minutes into their search. Her body was discovered in a wooded area at the entrance to her Oak Village subdivision in Lawrenceville.
Police have named her husband, Matt, as a suspect in her death. But Matt Leili hasnt been charged with anything. So, as first of kin, he had first rights to Nique's body.
The family hired attorney Noel Benedict to stop him from getting her remains.
According to the court, Alexander Michelle Page, Nique Leili' oldest daughter from a previous marriage, shall have the right and ability to make decisions regarding the final disposition of the body of Nique Leili and shall be solely responsible for any and all expenses related to the costs of any final disposition.
Matt Leili will be allowed to hold a separate service.
The family will hold a funeral with a burial, not the cremation they said Matt Leili would prefer.
