Johns Creek Police Hunt Bank Robber
News Chopper 2 flew over the Bank of America on Medlock Bridge Road, where police cars and crime scene tape surrounded the area.
A middle-aged man entered the bank around 10 a.m., Johns Creek police spokeswoman Rosemary Taylor said. She sent Channel 2's Mike Petchenik surveillance photos of the man handing the bank teller a demand note. The note said he had a gun, but he never showed a weapon, Taylor said.
Police did not reveal how much money the man got away with, but said he ran off afterward.
Six schools in the area were briefly locked down while police were on the hunt, Fulton County Schools officials said. The schools affected were River Trial Middle School, Northview High School, Findley Oaks, Medlock Bridge, Shakerag and Abbotts Hil elementary schools.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Johns Creek police at 678-474-1591.
