SMYRNA, Ga.,None — Lawyers for the gun maker Glock want Smyrna city officials to delay a vote on a plan that would create jobs.
Glock officials want to open a firing range and build a manufacturing facility behind its headquarters on Highlands Parkway.
Families who live nearby said they are worried about gunfire so close to their back yards.
"They're not making toys -- they're making guns, and when you make guns there's going to be byproducts through that process. They're also testing the guns," said resident Kim Childs.
Smyrna's City Council planned to vote on the request Tuesday, but Glock wants the vote delayed until late July.
