JEFFERSON, Ga. — A central Georgia suspect has been arrested after making threats to a middle school.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office say the threat was made against East Jackson Middle School, but did not advise when the threat was made.
Officials took the suspect into custody and charged them with one count of felony terroristic threats and acts.

“The Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County School System have been in close communication with each other throughout the case,” Sheriff Kevin McCook said.
Officials say they believe this is an isolated incident.
While the suspect is a juvenile, it is unclear if he is a student at the middle school or another school, however, law enforcement officials say the suspect’s parents have been cooperative.

I also want to thank school Superintendent Dr. Phillip Brown and his staff for their assistance. We take these types of threats seriously and will act accordingly.”
