COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Columbus Police Department’s Motor Squad arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run investigation that claimed the life of Patrick Nerber.
On Friday, CPD arrested Wayne Allen of Columbus after an investigation identified him as the driver of a hit-and-run accident, WTVM reported.

On July 7, 2024, Nerber was struck and killed by a vehicle in the area of Buena Vista Road and Mill Road.
Allen has been charged with homicide by vehicle in the first-degree, hit-and-run, and duty to report.

Allen’s first appearance is set for Dec. 16, WTVM reported.
