Genesis Biosciences has done everything in its power to minimize odors. In fact, the City of
Lawrenceville and the Georgia DNR have reviewed Genesis’s raw materials and processes and determined
that Genesis meets and exceeds all requirements. It is disheartening that our neighbor is trying to smear
Genesis in the press, even though the City of Lawrenceville rejected the same complaint made by the same
neighbor.
Genesis is dedicated to the environment and is the global leader in fermentation, microbial, and
antimicrobial products. Genesis prides itself in its use of eco-benign technology to create environmentally-
responsible products and solutions with a wide range of applications. Our Lawrenceville facility is ISO:9001
compliant and adheres to pharmaceutical QA/QC/SOP’s.
Genesis is also an active contributor to the community. We employ over 40 people in our
Lawrenceville facility, and we present seminars about the biotech industry for Gwinnett Tech and providing
internships for Gwinnett Tech students.
In case you are interested in the details, Genesis has taken considerable additional measures, at
significant expense, to minimize odors in and around its facility:
o Genesis added a new spray dryer and 5000-cfm wet particulate scrubber, a $700,000 investment,
to cut down process time and to minimize odors. We also add an odor-binding chemical,
Ordenone, to both scrubbers to help remove any odor in the water of the air scrubber.
o With Ordenone the process odor elimination occurs immediately.
o Ordenone has no effect on the normal bacterial processes of the skin and is used successfully by
leading manufacturers in a wide variety of fabric refreshers and personal care products.
o We have also installed a permanent PVC pipe that connects to the air scrubber and runs across
the roof into a filter box.
o The filter box sits on the opposite side of the building away from the neighbors that are
complaining. Filters are checked on a weekly basis and replaced as necessary.
